Maureen Shelley moved to the area
2½ years ago from
Kent. Her love of well-trained dogs began 40 years ago
when she decided that her German Shepherd needed to
learn some manners. During the following years she
founded 3 dog training clubs. The largest, Ditton Dog
Training Club, was formed in 1972 near Maidstone where
thousands of dogs have been trained. The Club is
registered by The Kennel Club as a Championship Show
Club and has been so since 1978, which means they are
allowed to hold Championship Obedience Shows. The
success of this club continues with Maureen as a distant
President.
Maureen was a joint founder of PRO-Dogs Charity and a
great supporter in their ensuing years. She has judged
in Jersey, Holland and Ireland as well as all over
England. Maureen judged Crufts Regional Finals for The
Kennel Club in 1998 and she was an associate member of
the Kennel Club for several years. On moving last year,
Maureen retired from all doggie activities except
for walking her German Shepherd, Manna.
Her love of dogs
& training did not stop however on her move to France. |
